Your data, handled with respect.

To show you local heating-oil prices, we ask for your county first. That's all we need to get you results, no Eircode, no name, no email, no account.

We only ask for your email addressif you choose to set up a price-drop alert or a reorder reminder. You don't have to give it to use the rest of the site.

We collect your email only with your explicit consent, via a tick-box at the point you sign up, and only for the specific purpose you chose:

• Price-drop alerts, to email you when prices in your county reach your target.
• Reorder reminders, to nudge you before we estimate your tank is getting low.

We won't use your email for anything you didn't ask for, and we cap alert emails to keep your inbox calm (around two a week at most).

We follow the principle of data minimisation: we only collect what we genuinely need to do the job you asked for, and nothing more. We don't require your name, phone number, address or date of birth.

Your county is used to find local prices and tailor alerts; your tank details (if you use the run-out predictor) are used to estimate your remaining days. We keep things lean on purpose.

To save you typing, we can pre-fill your countyfrom your rough location. To do that, your device's IP address is checked against a third-party lookup (ip-api.com), which returns an approximate area we map to a county.

It's a coarse, county-level guess, never your address. You can change it with one tap, and we store only the county, never your IP address.

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribelink. You can stop alerts and reminders at any time, and we'll act on it promptly.

Under the GDPR you also have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, and to have it erased. To make a request, just contact us using the email below and we'll sort it.

We never sell your data.Full stop. We don't trade, rent or hand your email to advertisers.

We use a small number of trusted service providers (for example, to send the emails you asked for) who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions. We do not pass your details to heating-oil suppliers; when you order, you contact the supplier directly.
