The timing sits alongside ongoing frustration flagged by Money Saving Expert, which notes that households in Northern Ireland on heating oil and LPG have largely been excluded from the broader UK energy support measures that mainland households have accessed. The BUS grant increase applies across Great Britain, but the wider question of targeted support for Northern Ireland's off-grid homes remains unresolved according to that report.
In the short term, the outlook on price is more encouraging than it has been for some months.
